Djaldi-Tabdi averaged 17 points and 9.5 rebounds in two Orange wins this past week.

Syracuse (3-1) moved up to No. 14 in this week’s AP Top 25 poll released on Monday.

The Orange were ranked No. 18 in the preseason poll and remained in the slot last week after opening the season 1-1. They’ve since reeled off two wins, against No. 20 Texas A&M on Wednesday in White Plains and Bucknell on Sunday.

Against the Aggies, Tiana Mangakahia outplayed fellow-Nancy Lieberman watch list candidate Chennedy Carter to lead SU to a 10-point victory. At home against the Bison, it was Maeva Djaldi-Tabdi pacing the Orange, with a career-high 19 points.

Djaldi-Tabdi was named Atlantic Coast Conference Co-Rookie of the week along with Georgia Tech’s Elizabeth Dixon. A redshirt freshman, Djaldi-Tabdi averaged just 7.5 points in Syracuse’s first two games, against North Dakota and Oregon. But versus Texas A&M the France native tallied 15 points and 15 rebounds before tallying a new high in points against Bucknell.

Next up for SU are three games in a row from Nov. 22-24 in the Cancun Challenge. The Orange will open with Kansas State on Thanksgiving and finish the slate against Princeton and No. 16 DePaul.
